How old is my boiler?

Under the ECO3 scheme to qualify for the boiler grant, you have to be a homeowner, in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits and have a boiler older than six years.

The age of the boiler is not the main reason why you should replace it, but to qualify for the ECO3 scheme boiler has to be older than six years.

The easiest way to understand how old the boiler is, is by looking at the boilers serial number. Your boiler serial number is a long sequence of digits, and letters found printed on the side, the drop-down panel, at the bottom of the boiler or in the installation manual.

How old is my Baxi boiler?

Depending on the age of your boiler, a Baxi boiler will have a seven, twelve or fourteen digit serial number. The fourth and fifth number of the serial number will be the year of the boiler.

For example, BCP051100298ZX means the boiler was manufactured in 2005.

How old is my Worcester Bosch boiler?

Boilers that have been installed before July 2010 will have a serial number that starts with 77, the 11th, 12th and 13th digits show date of the boiler. Ignore the 12th digit unless it is a one as in month 11 or 12.

For example, if a serial number is: 77161301556842205631, it means that the boiler was manufactured in April 2006.

On data badges, after July 2010 the 77 number is at the other end the serial number 5th, 6th and 7th digits show the date of the boiler.

For example, if a serial number is: 5570 006 000334 7716130137 the boiler was manufactured in June 2010.

How old is my Biasi boiler?

You can usually find your Biasi boiler serial number on the drop-down panel or inside the front casing. The serial number usually begins with the letter N and followed by nine digits. The last four digits of the serial number are the month and year of manufacturing. For example, if the number is 0608, your boiler was manufactured in June 2008.

How old is my Ideal boiler?

Ideal Logic

The Ideal Logic has a 24- or 25-digit number preceded by two-letter prefix and is split into three sections. The last two sections show the age of the boiler. Starting from the 16th or 17th character, the four-digit code shows the year and week of production. The last six digits show the actual production date.

For example, if the boiler serial number is XY 124854000000112 0834 08/08/18 it means that your boiler was manufactured in the 34th week of 2008 and on the 18/08/2008 exactly.

Pre 2015 boilers show the date as YY/MM/DD. After 2015 the date format is DD/MM/YY.

Ideal Classic

The Ideal Classic has a shorter serial number of only 17 or 18 characters. The 3rd cluster that contains four digits represents the year and week of production. For example, if a serial number is UZ 202034 0612 00149, it means that your boiler was manufactured during the 12th week of 2006.

Ideal M Series

The M series follows the same serial number pattern as Ideal Logic (see above). The Ideal M Series has a 24 or 25 digits number preceded by two-letter prefix and is split into three sections. The last two sections show the age of the boiler. Starting from the 16th or 17th character four-digit code shows the year and week of production. The last six digits show the actual production date.

Boilers manufactured before 2015 show the date as YY/MM/DD. After 2015 the date format is UK DD/MM/YY.

Ideal Mini

The Ideal mini has the age coded as month and year, not week and year. The last digits represent the month and year of production.

For example, if your boiler serial number is N104250308 means that your boiler was manufactured in March 2008.

How old is my Vaillant boiler?

A serial number on a Vaillant boiler will be between 20 and 28 characters long. In most cases, the 3rd and 4th Characters will represent the manufacturing year and the next two characters assembly week number.

For example, if a serial number is 26012463030010256754, the boiler was manufactured around June 2001.

How old is my Vokera boiler?

Every Vokera boiler has a letter in the serial number. The letter is the year identifier.

For example, if your boiler serial number is 850A36 50607, means that your boiler was made in 2005 and 36 that follows shows which week of the year the boiler was manufactured.
