Why should I get my boiler serviced?
Safety
Getting an annual service for your boiler will ensure that your boiler is running smoothly and efficiently. A faulty boiler can put you and your family in danger.
Around 40 people die, and around 300 get injured from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning each year in England and Wales.

Legal Requirement

How long does boiler service take?
With Invictus Energy Group, our experienced Gas Engineers can service most boilers in around 30 minutes. Our engineer will inspect your boiler and controls to make sure they are working correctly, safely and efficiently. We’ll also check on the flue for corrosion and leaks before making sure that gas pressure is correct.
As a final check we will also safely fire the boiler to ensure good working order. If needed, engineer will clean the boiler parts and when they are finished and issue the report showing everything they have done - keep this safe for the next time you need a service.
How often should a boiler be serviced?
Every boiler we install will come with at least a two-years warranty (with some models benefiting their owners with a 10 year warranty). However, to keep your warranty valid, you need to get your boiler serviced once a year. We recommend making a note of when your boiler was serviced and set a reminder to book the next one in.
You can service your boiler at any time. However, we would recommend doing it in the summer. This will ensure that your boiler is ready for the winter, and also, engineers tend to be less busy in the summer months.
Should I search for a GasSafe engineer?
You should always get your boiler serviced annually with a Gas Safe registered engineer as this is a legal requirement for anybody providing a professional boiler service. GasSafe registered engineers (such as our own) have been through the necessary training and accreditation to do the job safely.
How much does a boiler service cost?
An annual boiler service from Invictus Energy Group will cost £70. However, we can offer individual annual care packages for your home, depending on your needs. Please contact us using our contact form and we can build a custom package based on your needs.

Boiler Servicing FAQs

Sometimes we need to go beyond boiler servicing and look at repair or boiler replacement.
If you need us urgrently, our 2 hour call out rate is £100 + VAT.
If you need us to come out simply as soon as we can, we will charge the same £70 + VAT we do for boiler servicing.
Some boilers are of course beyond repair, but we will provide you with a professional assessment and a quotation for a new boiler where applicable.

Most of the boilers we service are either Combi boilers (produce hot water instantly for heating and taps/showers from a single, compact unit) or regular boilers which usually have a hot water tank connected to them. However, in flats we also come across and service immersion boiler. For customers of Invictus Energy where we previously installed the boiler, we often service Worcester Bosch, Glow-worm and Vailliant boilers.
