First Time Central Heating

Never had central heating at your property? You may be able to apply for a valuable First-Time Central Heating grant

What is First time Central Heating?

If your home has a gas connection but you don’t have gas-fired central heating installed, you may be able to claim a government-backed grant to cover some or all of the cost of installing central heating.

First-time central heating grants are available to help low-income families that don’t have and haven never had a boiler or radiators on their property.

It’s all part of the government’s ECO schemes - grants designed to bring Britain’s housing into the 21st century, reducing CO2 emissions, conserving energy and bringing down gas bills for consumers.

Why is the government funding first-time central heating?

As part of its efforts to aid low-income families in keeping their homes warm, and to reduce the negative environmental impact of inefficient heating systems, the UK Government created the ECO grant schemes. As of April 2022, we are now on the fourth ECO scheme (ECO 4). While ECO 3 mainly focused on replacing old boilers and ECO 4 focuses on insulation, there is still funding for certain homes that have never had central heating fitted.

This is because that those homes may be using less efficient or environmental friendly ways to generate heat and hot water such as wood, coal or multi-fuel burners, and may be underheated because of it.

If your property is heated in one of the following ways:

  • Electric panel heaters

  • Electric plug-in radiators

  • Gas fire (no boiler or radiators)

  • No Heating at all

…and you receive a qualifying benefit, then you may be one of the households that could benefit from a first-time central heating grant through Invictus Energy Group, and you can begin a no-obligation application using the button below.

Benefits of central heating systems

  • Energy efficiency

We install A-rated energy efficient new boilers, which means very little gas is used to heat your home, reducing your carbon footprint and your gas bills!

  • Profitability

Installing a central heating system in the property is likely to increase the value of your property. You will also spend less on costly maintenance than you would on an old electrical system or replacing electrical appliances every year or two.

  • Practicality

Combi boilers are practical and compact; this is why they are the most popular choice of boiler systems within the UK. You will have on-demand water and heating. You can learn more about the combination boilers here.

What does the First-Time Central Heating grant include?

The fully-funded first-time central heating system will include installing a boiler, radiators, heating controls, pipework, and any parts or materials required for the system to work efficiently. It's therefore a valuable grant to be awarded, and the team at Invictus Energy Group at experts at assessing grant eligibility and helping out with applications to secure your funding.

In most cases, properties will receive a full amount of funding. However, sometimes where properties don’t unlock the full amount a small contribution might be required. That is why we offer a free no-obligation survey that allows us to identify all your needs and give you an accurate contribution.

Is First Time Central Heating Installation free?

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme was launched in 2013 to help low income and vulnerable households gain access to energy-saving measures such as heating and insulation and reduce their carbon footprint.
