Park Homes
PLEASE NOTE
This page regarding insulation and boilers for Park Homes is retained for information purposes only, and Invictus Energy Group is no-longer able to assist with grants for Park Homes under ECO4. If you are interested in a grant for a Park Home we recommend contacting a local supplier that specialises in these grants.
According to Age UK, around 100,000 older people live in park homes (static mobile homes) across England and Wales. For many people, this is a dream for those in retirement. They are often in rural idyllic locations and are single-storey properties, which is excellent for people with health or mobility issues.
However, park homes are less energy efficient, especially the older properties. According to the report by Age UK, 95% of all mobile homes were built before 2005, due to this, the insulation standards haven’t been included in British Standards for Park Homes.
Energy costs for Park Homes
Energy costs for park homes are often extremely high. This is due to several reasons:
Park homes are usually not connected to the main gas grid- this means that residents have to rely on more expensive fuels such as LPG, oil, or electricity.
Many park home residents have supply agreements with the site owners and are unable to shop around for the competitive energy rate.

What help is available?
There may be schemes that offer several solutions for the Park Homeowners, however Invictus Energy Group cannot currently help under the ECO4 rules. The UK government has made it easier for park home residents to access the funding required for a heating system upgrade.
If your main heating source is electric storage heaters and you have a gas supply to the property, you may be eligible for a brand new boiler fitting. If your main heating source is plug-in heaters and you have no gas supply to the property, you may be eligible for an upgrade to electric storage heaters.
ECO 3 also paid more attention to other energy heating solutions. These include heating controls. A digital timer helps to ensure that your heating system only fires up when you need it to, and you are not wasting heat in the times that you don’t need it. You can also qualify for the underfloor insulation which will reduce the heat loss in your property. You can learn more about the underfloor insulation here.
