ECO 3 Boiler Grant for Homeowners
The boiler grant scheme is an initiative to help vulnerable and low-income homeowners around the UK to reduce their energy bills and carbon emissions.
Funded by medium and large energy companies
The ECO 3 is the government-backed boiler scheme. However, medium and large energy suppliers fund the installation of energy efficiency measures. Each obligated supplier has an overall target that they have to meet based on the number of domestic clients they have. You can find the full list of the obligated suppliers here.
Boiler older than six years
To qualify your boiler has to be older than six years. If you are not sure how old your boiler is, we have written an article that explains how to age your boiler.
Insulation grants under the ECO boiler scheme
If you have a suspended floor or a cellar/basement we can install underfloor insulation usually free of charge (dependent on a survey).
You have to receive benefits
To qualify for a boiler grant, you have to receive one of the following benefits:
Armed Forces Independence Payment
Income Based Job Seekers Allowance
Industrial Injuries Disablement Disablement Benefit
Income Related Employment Support Allowance
Gas or LPG boilers only
Under the government-backed ECO 3 scheme funding only covers gas or LPG boilers (with tank).
Free boiler grant - does it have to be repaid?
The boiler grant is free, and you don’t need to repay the grant you receive. Provided you qualify for a boiler the funding the amount of funding available will depend on the type of the property that you have. In most cases, the boiler will be free. However, in some cases, a small contribution might be required subject to a free no-obligation survey.
Boiler / insulation funding is available in England, Scotland and Wales
The funding currently available is only available in England, Scotland and Wales. We are based in North West England, but we are able to fit the boilers everywhere around the country.
