Child benefit can be a qualifying benefit for a boiler replacement
The ECO boiler scheme helps low income and vulnerable households to get their home insulated and old inefficient boilers replaced. In the process, it helps to reduce energy bills and make your home more energy-efficient.
Child benefit is one of the qualifying benefits. However, to qualify for the boiler replacement, if you only receive child benefit, you will have to meet income requirements and sign a self-declaration form confirming your income is below the government’s income cap.
To identify what income cap is relevant to you, you need to establish if it is a single or a joint claim. You can find this on the benefits letter. If it is a single claim, you need to look at the person’s income named on the benefits letter. That receives the child benefit. If it is a joint claim, you have to look at the annual income of your household.
Income caps are as follow:
ECO 3 funding offer boiler replacement and underfloor insulation grants for homeowners
To qualify for the eco boiler funding, you have to be a homeowner and have a boiler older than six years. There is additional funding available for the underfloor insulation if you have a suspended floor or a basement/cellar.
Can I qualify for a free boiler?
The amount of funding available is based on the type of property you own rather than the benefits you receive. That is why we offer a free no-obligation survey to establish what works need to be carried out and how much funding is available.
In most cases, the boiler is free. However, in some circumstances, a contribution will be required.
