Enjoy a new boiler this January with ECO 3 Boiler Funding
January is one of the coldest months of the year. Majority parts of the country have been hit by snow, ice and temperatures plummeting below zero. Lower temperatures will lead to higher demand for heating. Especially after the recent announcement by Boris Johnson placing the country into the 3rd national lockdown will lead to increased energy bills and increased demand on the boilers because many will be staying home more.
Replacing your old boiler with a brand-new A-rated boiler will help you save money on repairing your old boiler but also save the money on your energy bills. Replacing your old inefficient boiler could help you save between 14-34% per year on your energy bills. However, for many households, this is unattainable. The ECO3 scheme helps vulnerable, and low-income households make their homes more energy-efficient.
Could I be eligible for a new boiler grant?
You might be able to qualify for the ECO3 government boiler scheme funded by large energy companies if you meet the requirements of the scheme.
Currently, homeowners who are in receipt of benefits and who have boiler older than six years can qualify for the funding. If you are not a homeowner but live with the homeowner and you are in receipt of benefits you also might be eligible for the boiler funding.
I am a tenant; can I qualify for the ECO boiler scheme?
If you are a tenant and your property has a boiler and radiators you WOULDN’T QUALIFY for the boiler funding. However, if you live in the rented property that does not/ has not ever had a boiler or radiators, and you are in receipt of benefits, you might be eligible for a first-time central heating funding. If you think you might qualify for the funding, please visit our dedicated First-Time Central Heating page where you can learn more.
Is boiler grant free?
The grant itself is free, and you won’t have to pay it back. However, the amount of funding available is based on the property that you own. In the majority of cases, the boiler will be free. In some cases, however, the contribution might be required.
Who qualifies for a boiler grant?
- You must be a homeowner
- In receipt of benefits
- Your boiler is six+ years old
What is the ECO3 scheme?
The ECO was launched in 2013 to help make energy-saving measures, such as heating and insulation, affordable for householders and reducing their carbon footprint.
All major energy companies (the big six) in the UK have been obligated to provide funding for installations that cut carbon emissions and consumer fuel bills.
