What is the difference between the Government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme and the Green Homes Grant?

Medium and large energy companies fund the ECO scheme to install energy efficiency measures such as boiler replacement, underfloor insulation and smart heating controls to the homeowners.

The Green Homes Scheme offers vouchers for insulation and low-carbon heating to lower the amount of carbon dioxide produced by your home. These include insulation, low carbon heat, windows and doors, heating controls. However, you cannot claim a Green Homes Grant voucher towards the cost of measure done under the ECO scheme. However, you can claim funding from both schemes if you get work of different measures installed.

We currently only carry out the work under the ECO scheme. You can apply for the ECO scheme here.

The ECO funding available for new boilers

If you are a homeowner and you or someone in the property receives benefits, you might be eligible for the funding to replace your boiler. Your boiler must be older than six years to qualify for the funding.

You might be eligible for the First-time central heating grant if you are a tenant or a homeowner and there is no and never has been a boiler or radiators installed in the property. You can learn more about the scheme here.

How do I get a free boiler?

The amount of funding available is based on the type of property you own rather than the benefits you receive. Therefore, often the boiler is free. However, in some cases, a contribution might be required. We are 100% transparent. We offer our customers a free no-obligation survey where they will be able to identify what works needs to be carried out and if additional contribution will be required. You can cancel your application at any time.
