What benefits do I need to receive to qualify for a boiler grant scheme?

What benefits qualify for a replacement boiler?

Attendance Allowance

 

Attendance Allowance is a benefit for individuals over State Pension age who need additional help with personal care. Some people miss out on the attendance allowance because they believe they don’t qualify or are put off by the claims process. 

According to Age UK, to qualify for the benefit, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You are over State Pension age

  • You could benefit from personal care, such as washing, dressing, or needing supervision to keep you safe during day and night.

  • You have any type of disability or illness. 

  • You are terminally ill or needed help for at least six months.

Armed Forces Independence Payment

 

The armed forces independence payment provides financial support for seriously injured service personnel and veterans. To be eligible for the armed forces independence payment, you must be entitled to a Guaranteed income payment of 50% or higher through the armed forces compensation scheme. Disability Living Allowance

 

Disability Living Allowance is being discontinued. However, if you are born before 1948 and you already receive DLA, or you are claiming on behalf of a disabled person. 

If you or anyone living in your property receives DLA, they might be eligible for a free at a highly subsidised cost.

Personal Independence Payment

 

PIP is the extra money to help you with everyday life if you have an illness, disability or mental health condition. 

If you are a homeowner and you or someone in your property receives PIP, you might be eligible to get a free or heavily subsidised price boiler replaced in their property.

Working Tax Credit

 

Universal credit has replaced working tax credit for most people. You can only claim working tax credit if you already receive a child tax credit. However, suppose you are a homeowner, and you or someone in your household receive working Tax Credit. In that case, you might be eligible for a free boiler or if you don’t qualify for the full amount of funding than you will be able to get your boiler replaced at a fraction of the price.

Child Tax Credit

 

Child Tax Credit is paid to households to help people with the costs of bringing a child up. In most cases, this benefit is being replaced by Universal Credit; however, if you or someone who lives in your home receives a Child Tax Credit, then you might be eligible for a replacement of your boiler for free or at a heavily subsidised cost.

Pension Credit Guarantee

 

Pension Credit Guarantee is a benefit for people over State Pension Age. Pension credit is awarded to you based on your earnings. If you are a homeowner and you or someone in your property receives a pension credit guarantee, you might be eligible for a free boiler. If your property does not rank for the full funding amount, you might qualify for a boiler replacement at a heavily subsidised rate.

Income Support

 

Universal Credit is replacing income support. However, suppose you are a homeowner, and you or anyone else living in the property receives income support payments. In that case, you might be eligible to get your boiler replaced for free or at the heavily subsidised rate.

Income-based Jobseekers

 

Universal Credit is replacing income-based jobseekers allowance. However, if you are a homeowner and receive income-based job seekers, you might be eligible for a boiler replacement for free or under the heavily subsidised cost.


Carers allowance

 

If you provide care to someone for over 35 hours a week, you might be eligible for this benefit. If you are a homeowner and you or anyone else who lives with you receives a carer’s allowance, then you might qualify for a boiler replacement for free or at a heavily subsidised cost. 

Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit

 

You might be eligible for this benefit you became ill or disabled because of the job you had. If you are a homeowner and you or someone you live with receives this benefit, you might get your boiler replaced under the ECO scheme.

Universal Credit

 

Universal Credit is replacing a majority of benefits and combining them in one. Universal Credit is a payment to help you with the living costs. 

If you are a homeowner and you or someone who lives with you receives Universal Credit, then you might be eligible for an A-rated boiler at the heavily subsidised cost or for free. The funding available is based on the type of property you own and subject to a free no-obligation survey.


Income-related Employment Support Allowance

 

Income-related employment support is money for people who have illness or disability, making it hard to work. Suppose you are a homeowner and you or anyone else living in the property receives an income-related employment support allowance. In that case, you might be eligible for a boiler replacement for a heavily subsidised cost for free.

War pension mobility supplement

 

War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS) is paid with War Disablement Pension to help with extra mobility costs due to service caused disability. If you are a homeowner and you or someone who lives in the property receives this benefit, you might qualify for the boiler funding. This might be eligible for you to get your boiler replaced for free or at the heavily subsidised cost.

Child Benefit

 

You might be eligible for a child benefit if you are bringing up a child. If you are in received of child benefit, you might qualify for a boiler grant.
